Michaelangelo L’Acqua is an internationally acclaimed, music lifestyle curator, whose commitment to creating ground breaking, innovative solutions for his clients, marks a successful career that is highlighted by unprecedented achievements in the realm of music, fashion and luxury brands.

Michaelangelo’s career began in 1999, when he was hired by Tom Ford to be Music Director of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Michaelangelo collaborated with Tom Ford to create the musical landscape to match Ford’s design collections, across the runways of Milan and Paris.
Michaelangelo’s unique curation of the musical landscapes for these luxury fashion brands led to the formation of Onda, a boutique production company specializing in music production for fashion shows, TV, film and major label records. Over the next several years, Onda produced hundreds of fashion shows for the runways of Paris, Milan, Berlin, New York, expanded their TV and film credits as well as executive produced several major label albums for
Sony and EMI.

In July of 2009, Michaelangelo was named Global Music Director for The W Hotel Group. In this capacity he was able to create a proprietary music platform that clearly defined the sonic identity of The W brand as it expands its footprint to nearly 60 hotels worldwide by the end of 2012.

Upon arrival Michaelangelo develop a new music program called “Symmetry”. A multi tiered music strategy that includes the North American Symmetry Live Concert Series, W’s international Symmetry DJ series as well as W’s new music compilation series entitled “W Hotels Presents Symmetry: A Selection Of Sounds”. Symmetry Live has hosted concerts with Janelle Monae, Cee Lo, Ellie Goulding, Katy B, Alicia Keys, Theophilus London, Groove Armada, Bebel Gilberto, Roisin Murphy, Yelle, Toro Y Moi, Nouvelle Vague just to name a few.

In the summer of 2011 W unveiled Michaelangelo’s latest creation, The W Hotels Iphone App. Michaelangelo has curated 100 world class DJs who are offering exclusive 1 hours DJ mixes that represent the many sonic moods one would experience in a W world.

When not focused on his obligations to The W Brand, Michaelangelo is an international DJ and continues to produce music for runway shows throughout the world.
