It cuts in and out when I just the speaker and the cord positioning, but it is such a hassle. I've emailed Sol Republic about this matter with no response. I plan to call Sol very soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yup, left speaker starting to act up I LOVE these headphones. UNFORTUNATELY, today the left speaker started to act up with intermittent dead air. After wiggling the wire connected to the left speaker, it starts working. My first thought was a bad cable. I'm such a fan of Sol Republic, I have multiple headphones. Luckily I have a Tracks Air with headphone wires that are exactly the ones these use; I swapped the cables. Guess what? SAME PROBLEM. Clearly, from all these reviews, there is a manufacturer defect. Please please please please support your product. Otherwise I'll switch back to Skullcandy who has a LIFETIME warranty.

Sometimes I can get it to work if I jiggle the audio jack around, but even then the slightest movement will cut off the sound again. They were a gift last Christmas and the problems started about 9 months later. What's up with that? Did Sol Republic just make a really bad batch of headphones and we all got them?

I am a soldier and I have pushed this product with my and my bands reputation behind them. I had a great experience with all your products right off the bat and was really impressed. So much so that I got involved with your local rep to help. These are great in the studio! But when mine stopped working I got worried. All of them stopped working. They get a lot of use so it is what it is. Then fans started commenting on theirs not working. We had raffled some off and they didn't work. I pushed them at every show because I liked them. I wasn't getting anything from it but the satisfaction of pushing something I liked. With all the hype around beats, that aren't nearly as good, I wanted to help. I'm not exactly Dr Dre! So the world will go on. The fact that you're not responding to customers that spent hundreds of dollars on something that clearly is a design flaw is disappointing. When people hit me up I have no recourse but to apologize. There are so many companies selling headphones now and most are really good. I'm not sure how you hope to survive. Just cashing in on a poorly made product and running for the door before we catch up. Please respond to the people having trouble. Find a way to help them.

I liked these at first, were a bit uncomfortable after wearing them for over an hour but what is really upsetting is that the left can stopped working, first it was intermittent, so I thought it was the cable that might have a kink but after swapping out the cables between the left and right cans, the right continued to work and the left never worked.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Sound, Awful reliability Sol make great headphones that produce great sound, when they make sound. I don't know what it is about your design process, but you've designed in some awful flaws. Just got these and straight out of the box the right can only works when it's at a weird angle. I can see the problem straight away - because the cups and speakers are articulated (they adjust to fit your ear very well), when the speaker is in a normal position, the tiny wire that connects the plug-in lead to the actual speaker in the can is stretched and loses contact - dead can, no sound. When you tilt it back to a position that wouldn't fit your head, the wire isn't stretched and it makes contact again - bringing the can to life. How did this design make it into your top-of-the range headphones???

For the last month the left can started playing up and finally stopped working. I have since returned to the store I purchased from Harvey Norman Hamilton NEW-ZEALAND only to be told they will review it and get back to me? Noting damage that I have done to them, all they could come with is a chip in the paint?Here in NEW ZEALAND I paid $279 for these on special from $300+, so disappointed as I paid soo much for these not as good as they make them out to be, although the sound is great if both cans work!

I've had my pair for a few months now (bought the black ones, really sleek design) and the right can has stopped working for me. The cover for he cans has also begun to peel away. Have to give it a 3-5 because while I love the sound quality the durability is only limited to the headband.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I've had two pairs, both of them failed on me I bought a pair in around 2013, they lasted around a year and a half. Then one side went out...what was cool is that Sol honored my warranty even thought i was out of warranty. But now around six to seven months later same thing happened. One side went out which is really lame. I looked online and somebody took theirs apart to see the problem because it's common. The soldering job is just terrible and disconnects where the wire connects to the headphone. If this problem was fixed I'd buy another pair, but I just can't rely on it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best quality materials I bought mine less than a year ago and within a couple of weeks of use one of the speakers stopped working and I went to the store and got a replacement now on my second unit which is less than a year the cables went bad, the speakers padding is paint is wearing off and is coming to pieces the only good thing is the sound quality and comfort which is why I Will give it 4 stars but build quality 1 star. You will find your self purchasing new parts like new cables for $20 (see reviews under cables replacemen im not the only one). If you want a lasting good quality headphones save your money and spend a little more on another brand.

After that I thought I was good, however, the right hedphone went out just after the warranty date. I even contacted them to ask if I could send them in, even tho it was 2 weeks after the policy states. I was declined and have been stuck with headphones I paid 250 bucks for, that don't work. Go buy Dre beats, your money will last longer.

What is the difference between the Calvin Harris Master Tracks XC and this X3 - my Calvin Harris XC's earpad just feel off and trying to figure out if this can replace those?

Is the issue with the drivers fixed bad reviews I’m not spending money on gear that breaks in a year to many BAD Very BaD reviews on your product breaking

One driver went out on my headphones after a year (naturally, just outside the warranty) after very gentle use. So my experience with this product is unfortunately similar to many others. I have inquired, but hear that the company is not willing to make any restitution. Very disappointed, as these were not inexpensive headphones. Bad business practice not to stand behind your product when there is obviously an issue with it.

None of our headphones use leather or any animal products. The ear cushions on our Tracks headphones are foam, coated with something similar to latex. (I don't have detailed information on the exact material makeup)
